Elizabeth Adams

Elizabeth Adams is an international development specialist with 16 years of professional and academic experience working with a variety of agriculture and food security programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America & Caribbean. Her focus on inclusive, pro-poor rural development emphasizes linking producers to profitable domestic and export markets in an economically and environmentally sustainable way. Specifically, she has extensive technical knowledge of and experience with the approaches for reaching and training smallholder farmers, tools and techniques for inclusion of women and girls, nutrition-sensitive and climate-smart strategies, global cocoa and coffee value chains, and processes for results-oriented and adaptive management.

Throughout her career, she has engaged in a mix of technical services (technical writing, advisory services, monitoring & evaluation, curriculum design, model capture), project management (management, reporting, compliance, financial management, performance monitoring), and business development (proposal design & writing, management, coordination, recruitment, review) for programs funded by USAID, USDA, MCC, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and other private foundations or companies.

She has a M.A. in International Development Studies from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and speaks fluent Spanish. Before joining CNFA in 2019, she served as Technical Director of Agriculture & Food Security at Global Communities, supporting existing programs and designing new programs. Prior to this, she worked for ACDI/VOCA, holding various positions such as Project Manager and Project Director.
