Tony L. Butler-Sims

Vice President, Talent Engagement & Culture

As CNFA’s lead human resources executive, Butler-Sims is responsible for preserving the organization’s unique culture of positive engagement with its employees around the world, overseeing talent management and development, HR service delivery, diversity and inclusion, and HR policies and programs. Butler-Sims is also responsible for ensuring that CNFA’s information technology platform and safety and security programs are aligned and consistent across the organization. Under his leadership, CNFA’s Glassdoor rating continues to be among the best in its sector, based on employee ratings of workplace culture.

Prior to joining CNFA, Butler-Sims was the Director of Human Resources & Administration for Cardno Emerging Markets, with responsibility for Africa, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. He has also held senior director positions at a federal government contractor in Northern Virginia and at the largest public-sector international labor union. A U.S. Army veteran, Butler-Sims served at various military bases in Germany, South Korea, and the United States.

Butler-Sims holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science from Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas. Additionally, he holds certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Society for Human Resource Management, and as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute.

In his spare time, he serves as an active member of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, and enjoys volunteering, traveling, and spending time with his family.
